Wellesley, MA
The main objective for this 650 SF addition was to provide updates the home without disrupting the authentic Tudor style. The expansion had to be true to form and live as a seamless extension yet accommodate the client’s program needs. As a result, I required that the existing materials be preserved as they were removed during demolition. At the front facade, the salvaged brick from the demolition was expertly combined with new bricks of same character. The same process was applied the slate roof which also ties seamlessly with the existing.
Inside, the goal was to create spaces that feel spacious and livable yet in scale with the existing rooms. The addition maximizes the use of space and takes into consideration carefully designed details. The owner sought an expanded kitchen with pantry, a dedicated Mudroom, an additional Master Bedroom, and cosmetic updates throughout the home. As with the exterior, careful consideration was paid to scale and materials leading to a seamless integration of Tudor architecture and modern living habits
