Luxury Outdoor Living | Wellesley, MA

This thoughtfully designed outdoor living addition transformed the rear of a traditional Wellesley home into a sophisticated four-season retreat for entertaining and everyday family life. Rather than simply adding a porch, the design creates a fully integrated living space that functions as an extension of the home’s interior while maintaining a strong connection to the outdoors.

Designed as a seamless extension of the home, this luxury outdoor living addition creates a true four-season gathering space that blends indoor comfort with outdoor living. Featuring a vaulted cedar ceiling, natural stone fireplace, expansive screens, and direct access to the patio, the addition allows the homeowners to enjoy New England’s changing seasons while remaining connected to the landscape.

The screened porch features a warm tongue-and-groove cedar ceiling accented by oversized skylights that flood the space with natural light throughout the day. Large screened openings frame views of the surrounding landscape while providing protection from insects and the elements, allowing the family to comfortably enjoy outdoor living from spring through fall.

At one end of the addition, a natural stone fireplace serves as the focal point, creating a cozy gathering place during cooler evenings. Integrated media, recessed lighting, ceiling fans, and a custom outdoor kitchenette further extend the functionality of the space, making it equally suited for intimate family dinners or large-scale entertaining.

Natural bluestone flooring provides a durable and elegant foundation, while crisp white trim and traditional detailing ensure the addition feels like an original part of the home rather than a later expansion. Direct connections to the interior living spaces and adjacent patio create seamless indoor-outdoor circulation that enhances the way the homeowners experience their property.

The result is an outdoor living environment that combines timeless architecture, thoughtful craftsmanship, and year-round functionality—expanding the home’s usable living space while strengthening its relationship to the landscape.
